Staff and Trip-Lead Trainings

Staff and trip leaders - directly associated with the institution or not - play a critical role in planning for, responding to, and recovering from incidents that occur abroad. Trip leaders must understand that they have a responsibility to understand and mitigate risk while abroad as well as assume a leadership role during an incident.

All staff and trip leaders must be able to respond quickly to an incident involving a student. These trainings provide insight and understanding into:

  • Develop and utilize situational awareness
  • Understanding of Duty of Care and overseas responsibilities
  • Identify and manage foreseeable risks
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies
  • Crisis communication strategies
